Genesis revealed its boldest concept yet at the 2025 New York Auto Show. It’s not a low-slung coupe or sleek convertible—it’s the X Gran Equator, an unapologetically rugged luxury SUV designed to take on the trail in serious style.

With exaggerated proportions, a massive dash-to-axle ratio, and a sloping rear roofline that plays visual tricks, the X Gran Equator looks like an adventure machine dressed in designer threads. Its grille-less front, flanked by wraparound LED light bars, strongly hints at an all-electric powertrain—likely equipped with all-wheel drive and torque vectoring to match its off-road ambition.

Inside, the Genesis X Gran Equator trades traditional touchscreens for analog-inspired digital gauges and circular displays embedded in the dash. The four-seat layout and quad-panel sunroof suggest a luxurious take on overlanding, where each passenger gets a personalized view of the sky. Finished in calming tones of pale blue and beige, the cabin balances minimalist elegance and rugged readiness.

Genesis hasn’t confirmed production. Still, the concept feels like a calculated test balloon for a next-gen GV80 with serious off-road chops. With lifestyle SUVs dominating the luxury market, it’s only a matter of time before this electric beast (or something close to it) rolls off the line.
