Film buffs and home chefs alike are bound to get a chuckle from the goofballs at #FoodFilms. Reimaging short cooking/recipe videos in the style of multiple famous directors, there’s a #FoodFilms to match any cinematic taste.
We can’t help but chuckle at the fact that the type of food being prepared is just perfect for the directors that the videos emulate. In the Michael Bay-inspired waffle video, dry waffle batter explodes out of bowls like dirt from buried landmines. Once prepared and stacked high, the waffles topple over in a scene that echoes the falling skyscraper scene in Transformers. For those who go in for films with more critical acclaim, #FoodFilms offers a tribute to Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity masquerading as a pancake recipe video. A bowl of spaghetti with meatballs is tailor-made for Quentin Tarantino; not only is he a big fan of the Spaghetti Western, but marinara sauce makes an excellent stand-in for blood. And Wes Anderson showing us how to make s’mores? That’s just too delicious.
