As images of land-based “hoverboards” bursting into flames have begun to fade from our collective memory, Fliteboard is taking to the open water with the release of a new kind of hoverboard. And here’s the kicker: this device actually hovers.
Controlled by a small hand-held remote and the shifting of your body weight, the Fliteboard Electric Hydrofoil Surfboard allows you to fly over any body of water that is at least a meter deep. The first unibody foil to hit the market, it can travel above the water’s surface for up to an hour on a single charge. And because it’s powered entirely by electricity, it is extremely quiet and emission free.
Intimidated by the thought of solo flight (even at these extremely low altitudes)? No worries! Fliteboard is partnering with existing watersports centers in Australia, New Zealand, and around the globe, offering Fliteboard lessons and other Fliteboard-related activities.
