Smaller and lighter than its original version, the DJI Ronin-SC Stabilizer is a compact option for a gimbal that is big on performance. The single-handed motorized three-axis camera stabilizer may only weigh 2.4 pounds but it’s capable of handling a payload of about twice its weight. Its 11-hour battery life means it can handle taking smooth and more stable shots throughout the day. Its Bluetooth enabled design allows the stabilizer to be synchronized with the Ronin app. That interface allows photographers to turn their smartphone into a handheld controller for their cameras, capturing high quality imagery from up to 82 feet away.
The lightweight gimbal utilizes ActiveTrack 3.0 tracking technology whose high performance responsiveness has been a cornerstone of DJI’s Osmo series and several of its drone models. A major upgrade to this stabilizer is the locking mechanism attached to each of the three axes which are designed for improved control for remote use. With time-lapse, motion control, and panorama features, the Ronin-SC gives photographers everything and more that the original Ronin-S boasts but at a more comfortable price point.
