In the drone world, DJI’s Mavic series offers some of the best capabilities and flashiest technology around. That’s why we were pumped to hear about the new Mavic Air, which incorporates the ultimate in portability, functionality, and high-end flight performance to take you on limitless adventures.
The Mavic Air features a 3-axis mechanical gimbal camera, making it the most portable DJI drone to house such technology. This reduces its angular vibration range to 0.005°. While set in a triangular formation, the gimbal dampeners help create even steadier shots. The drone records 32-megapixel spherical panoramas in addition to the horizontal, vertical, and 180° panoramas that it is already capable of; it works to stitch together 25 photos in just eight seconds to create its crystal clear images. You can then view them from the immersive DJI Goggles for even more stunning playback.
As for video, the Mavic Air shoots at an astounding 4K 30 fps, recording at 100 Mbps to commemorate each second with UHD quality. It can also produce slow-motion video in 1080p 120 fps footage. All this is wrapped up in a foldable body that is extremely portable.
