Yeelock is an ultra-portable anti-theft disc brake lock featuring fingerprint and key unlock methods. According to the Kickstarter campaign, Yeelock is an ideal lock for urban and recreational cyclists. Most notably, the Yeelock disc brake lock system ensures bicycles and motorcycles are safe from thieves. It is also waterproof, lightweight, durable, and easy to use. Additionally, the 6mm lock pin fits most bicycles, e-bikes, and motorcycles with disc brakes. Yeelock creator Yi Chang Chun says that, unlike traditional and sometimes clumsy bike locks, Yeelock is pocket-sized, making it truly portable. What’s more, users can unlock it in 0.3 seconds via fingerprint, so there is no need for a key. Smart fingerprint encryption technology not only provides convenience but it is also one of the most secure ways to lock a bike. However, Yeelock does still allow for the traditional key lock method.
Yeelock’s smart technology can memorize as many as 16 fingerprints. And, there is no app needed if users want to record or delete a fingerprint. Users store and manage everything right from the disc brake lock. Yeelock weighs around 8 ounces and has a waterproof grade of IPX7. The company far surpassed its Kickstarter goal to raise $3,957. In fact, with a week to go and 518 backers, the company is close to raising $45,000. Mass production starts in March, and Global shipping begins in April 2022.
