The golden spiral. If you aren’t already familiar, its technical mathematical properties might bore you. But when you learn that it manifests itself in every corner of the natural world (and after seeing just how beautifully it curves), the golden spiral takes on a whole new significance. Perhaps the audio experts at Deeptime noted a similarity between the golden spiral and the shape of the human cochleae when they crafted the new Spirula Speakers.

In any case, this speaker mimics the golden spiral geometry of a natural seashell. The speaker’s cabinet material and construction takes its ties to nautical nature even further, because the Spirula is the first audio component to be 3D printed as a single unit using ordinary silica sand.

Resting on a series of tapering legs, the Spirula is elegantly angled to deliver sound directly to your ear. Whether placed on a table or desk, it makes a statement for sure.
