The origins of the deBolex Energica Eva are firmly rooted in Oil in the Blood — a documentary film that celebrates motorcycle culture and the people live for it. Considering the love of rumble and smoke that lies at the heart of many bikers, it may be a bit surprising that the film’s director Gareth Maxwell Roberts decided to commission an electric bike to commemorate Oil in the Blood’s 2019 release. But make no mistake; the film puts equal emphasis on the future as it does on the past.

Roberts reached out to the UK custom bike shop deBolex because he had commissioned exceptional motorcycles from them before. Starting with a standard Eva bike from Italy’s Energica Motor Company, Roberts, deBolex, and TW Steel created an electric vehicle that “captures the spirit of Oil in the Blood” and embodies all the gas-fueled power that we have come to expect from a high-performance motorcycle.
