A cult favorite among many fragrance aficionados since the 80s, the Creed Aventus gets a flanker called Aventus Cologne. Despite its name, it’s not a diluted EdC version of Aventus. In fact, it’s the same EdP concentration but with fresher notes that give it the “cologne” vibe. Regardless, with a name like that, it’s got some big shoes to fill.
This unisex fragrance has top notes of green apple, mint, pineapple, black currant, and bergamot for an overall sweet initial sniff. From there, it mellows a bit with middle notes of jasmine, rose, birch, and patchouli. Finally, over the course of the day the base notes of musk, vanilla, ambergris, and oak moss will linger.
So is it worthy of the Aventus name? Unfortunately, many fragrance reviews don’t think so. The verdict is, if you’re just looking for a refreshing aromatic fruity fragrance with some earthier tones, Aventus Cologne makes a perfect everyday wear. But it also seems to be similar to a lot of designer scents out there from the likes of Chanel, and with a price tag of $325 for 50ml, it may be difficult to justify the purchase for some.
