When a prestigious company such as Oakley joins forces with Brain Dead, a company known for its bold experimentation, any style-conscious lover of the outdoors takes notice. Their latest Brain Dead x Oakley “Rare Metals” project sees the Oakley Factory Team and Brain Dead bringing their combined inimitable styles to contemporary sunglasses silhouettes.

Conceived using two of Oaklay’s frames taken from the Oakley archive, the Radar EV Path and Plazma, the “Rare Metals” collab delivers color to these four new statement pieces. Bold and futuristic shades that, while not quite as extravagant a conversation piece as Oakley’s OVERTHETOP sunglasses, are nevertheless unique enough in design to make a statement when worn.

This extends to the rich and vibrant greens, purples, and oranges of the lenses, which utilize the Oakley Prism Lens Technology that takes the science fiction vibe to another level. They’re a fitting addition to Oakley’s design and aesthetic evolution, which continues to progress following iconic shades such as the Radar EV Advancer, released back in 2019.

These limited-edition sunglasses from Oakley and Brain Dead will no doubt be highly sought-after and are available from selected stockists as well as the Brain Dead and Oakley online stores starting on March 14. The four-piece drop includes the Plazma Green with Prizm Sapphire, Plazma Orange with Prizm Violet, and the same two treatments on the fan-favorite Radar EV Path.
