Brabus and Mercedes-Benz go hand-in-hand like Shelby and Ford. The renowned German tuning company has a long resume of turning Mercedes-Benz vehicles up to 11 by giving them tire-melting torque figures. Cue the haunting organ music and lightning bolts as Brabus has revealed its latest Frankenstein monster, the 2021 Brabus Rocket 900. Its newest creation is a four-door sedan delivering 888 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque capable of reaching a limited top speed of 205 mph.

The Brabus Rocket 900 starts with a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+. The standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is treated to a precision-balanced billet crankshaft, piston rods, larger forged piston rods, and increased cylinder bores. This tuning increases the engine’s displacement to 4.5-liters. Its factory turbochargers were ditched for larger ones with a bespoke induction system, increasing the boost pressure. A carbon-fiber ram-air intake system and stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system comes complete with electronically-controlled adjustable exhaust flaps. These new parts translate on the street to reaching zero to 60 in 2.8 seconds, and 124 mph in 9.7 seconds. Brabus says the torque figure has to be capped at 774 lb-ft to protect the drivetrain from itself.

Styling cues on the Rocket 900 are flared fenders giving the German saloon broad shoulders with high haunches that widen the car’s rear by three inches. A carbon-fiber rear wing and diffuser are not-so-subtle clues that this is way more than your average “modded” Merc. The cherry at the bottom of this tuning sundae is a set of Brabus Monoblock Z Platinum Edition wheels, measuring 21-inches in the front and 22 in the rear. If you want a street-legal rocket, you’ll need to take out a loan for over a half-million dollars and hurry because Brabus only plans on building ten examples of the Rocket 900.
