In 2016, Bell & Ross made the decision to enter the world of motor racing by collaborating with the Renault F1 Team. In 2021, the team was renamed the Alpine F1 Team and, to officially commemorate this change, Bell & Ross released a new range of models called the Alpine F1 Team A521 Collection, which marks the sixth range of Bell & Ross watches inspired by the world of F1. A521 is a reference to the 2021’s Alpine A521 single-seater. For 2022, the company has announced the upcoming release of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 A522, aptly named for the current Alpine A522 racing car.
This new edition Bell & Ross timepiece is a traditional time-and-date, sporting a matte black face with white Arabic numerals and blue accents on the Alpine-shaped seconds hand and the raised inner flange. The colors take their design cues from the speedometer of an Alpine car, referencing the brand’s signature livery. The date is located in a framed window at 6 o’clock, with all elements of the face filled with Super-LumiNova. Above the date window is a mini blue/white/red flag referencing Alpine’s tricolor origins. Using the characteristic square case with four screws in the corner, this new model is presented in matte black ceramic for a stealth look and increased resistance.
Inside, the BR 03-92 A522 is powered by the automatic BR-CAL.302, which is the in-house name for the Sellita SW300 – a 4Hz automatic movement with a 42h power reserve. This new Alpine limited edition measures 42mm x 42mm, with a height of 10.4mm, and is water resistant to 100 meters. Complementing the racing look of the watch, it arrives with a perforated black rubber strap with a PVD-coated pin buckle, as well as an included black synthetic fabric strap. Only 999 pieces of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 A 522 will be produced, and pre-orders are being taken now with delivery expected in November.
