Celebrating the joint 10th anniversaries of Worn & Wound and Autodromo, the two brands have collaborated to create a special limited edition version of the Prototipo Chronograph. Known for its automotive-inspired timepieces, Autodromo first released the Prototipo in 2014. However, it is also the Autodromo Group B Series 2 LE from 2019 that helps inform the styling of this new watch. The 42mm Prototipo Limited Edition barrel-case is finished in gun-metal IP which provides smokey gray tones with flashes of blue and brings out the stunning brushing on the top and side surfaces. The dial is a matching gray with a subtle metallic finish, while the index around the edge of the dial is printed in white, with blue accents at the hour.
The Autodromo x Worn & Wound Prototipo Limited Edition is powered by the Seiko VK63 Meca-Quartz Chronograph caliber. This Japanese-made hybrid movement mixes a mechanical chronograph mechanism with quartz time regulation. The chronograph center-hand sweeps at 1/5th second intervals for smooth motion and all hands instantly reset. Additionally, a 60-minute totalizer is at the nine position, a 24-hour hand at three, and active seconds at six. Displayed on the caseback is Worn & Wound’s 10th-anniversary logo. Limited to only 150 units, the Autodromo Prototipo Limited Edition is paired with a perforated grey suede rally strap. The watch will begin shipping in mid-December.
