As the global leader in the field of creative arts books, New York City and London-based publisher Phaidon has more than 1,500 titles in print. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the publisher has already tackled the subject of Brutalism in 2016’s This Brutal World. While this volume brought a number of lesser-known architectural treasures to light, it is far less comprehensive than Phaidon’s latest volume: Atlas of Brutalist Architecture.

Nearly 250 pages longer than This Brutal World, the exhaustive, 560-page Atlas of Brutalist Architecture contains a staggering 1000 illustrative photographs. In striking black and white, these photographs capture all of the deliberate rawness and crudeness of this unadorned architectural style.

Atlas of Brutalist Architecture showcases 878 buildings by 798 architects in 102 countries that span the globe. In addition to its examinations of Lina Bo Bardi, Frank Lloyd Wright, and other 20th century masters from Europe and the United States, the book features work by lesser-known architects in Asia, Australia, and elsewhere.
