The three-wheeled Aptera Solar Powered Vehicle has a range of over 40 miles each day — just by harnessing the sun’s energy. The “Never Charge” system relies on more than 32 square feet of solar panels that are strategically placed on the car’s body. The Aptera burns just 100 watt-hours per mile, meaning that it can drive up to 11,000 miles each year without any decline in its performance.
Using advanced science, the Aptera Solar Powered Vehicle is designed with a passenger safety cell that is stronger than any other road-worthy vehicle of today. With just 10 key structural components and solar panels that can be both replaced and upgraded, the Aptera Solar Powered Vehicle is still in its concept stage. By the end of 2020, Aptera plans to start regular production with a commitment to produce 10,000 units by 2022 and 40,000 by 2024.
