A smart home can contain dozens of connected devices and still lack a useful place to control them. Apple HomeView gives that fragmented setup a dedicated screen rather than another menu buried in a phone.

The new 7-inch smart display combines household controls, entertainment, FaceTime, and Siri AI. It recognizes up to six people by face and changes its interface to show their personal information, provided they have the necessary Apple accounts and devices. Guests can still operate common household functions without seeing private content.

A tilting Liquid Retina display sits above a domed speaker base, joined by a stainless steel hinge. The tabletop version comes in four finishes; a separate wall-mounted design is intended for entryways and other shared spaces. HomeView can show camera feeds, adjust lighting and thermostats, and operate compatible connected door locks.

Siri AI runs on an A18 chip, with deeper personal-context features dependent on a compatible iPhone or iPad. That distinction matters: the display is a household appliance first, not an independent replacement for every family member’s phone.

Both HomeView models cost $299 in the United States. Preorders are open, with availability scheduled for November 13. The tabletop model requires no installation; the wall-mounted version does.
