adidas recently released the very first piece in its lineup of 4D-printed sneakers. Each addition to this collection will be built using innovative Digital Light Synthesis technology. That allows adidas to craft a web-like sole to provide each sneaker with improved structural support while allowing give that conforms to each individual’s unique footprint. Since pioneering this design, adidas has partnered with several collaborators to craft limited edition sneakers, including the adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams 4D.
The sneaker takes the printed weave of the midsole and seamlessly intertwines it into the fabric of the shoe, giving it a more solidified structure. The fabric hugs the foot for a near sock-like fit, easily staying snug on your foot. The sneakers use adidas’ proprietary Primeknit material for the upper portion and are made with a unique color combination of Tech Olive for the fabric, Runner White, and Collegiate Green.
