Kia released press photos of its new three-row electric SUV, the EV9, weeks before its official debut. This new EV from Kia is one of 15 electric vehicles said to be announced by 2027. The Kia EV9 is new to the manufacturer as it’s the first electric entry into the cut-throat mid-size three-row SUV segment.

Details concerning powertrain, pricing, and dimensions are being kept secret until the official unveiling. But these press photos let us at least see what the production model will look like when you see it at the dealership. Kia’s designers describe the EV9 styling as “refined boxiness” and stay true to the concept design unveiled in 2021. The 2024 Kia EV9 looks like a more futuristic Kia Telluride but is longer by about eight inches.

The 2024 Kia EV9’s flat-edged shape allows for ample interior space for rear passengers. Every angle on this vehicle looks sharp, figuratively and literally. Press photos show the SUV riding on 21-inch wheels, but trim variants will offer 19 and 20-inch rims. Inside, the designer wanted to eliminate the feeling of confined spaces. As a result, the front seat headrests are mesh and see-through, and the wrap-around dashboard seen in other Kia models instead tapers off at both ends. Details about the second and third-row configurations include seats that can swivel to face the third row. Full details on the 2024 Kia EV9 will be announced by early April and can be expected to go on sale in early 2024.
