Ferrari unveiled a topless Roma to replace the Portofino M in the thoroughbred lineup. The 2024 Ferrari Rome Spider is the first front-engine model to feature a soft top since the 1969 Ferrari 365 GTS/4. Moreover, the Roma Spider didn’t lose any performance when Ferrari chopped the roof off. Under the long hood of the 2024 Ferrari Roma Spider beats the turbocharged heart of a 3.9-liter V8 producing 612 horsepower and 561 lb.-ft of torque. In addition, Ferrari updated the car’s Slide Slip Control system to sharpen the handling and responsiveness of the Spider.
The car’s engine isn’t the only thing that’s fast on the new Roma Spider. Its soft top can be erected in 13.5 seconds while moving at speeds up to 37 mph. In addition, the car’s active rear spoiler has been redesigned and calibrated for convertible driving. Moreover, the modifications to reinforce the rear chassis have made only a 185-pound difference between the Spider and coupe Ferrari Roma.
Inside, the 2024 Ferrari Roma Spider maintains the same interior layout as the coupe. An 8.4-inch vertical screen and a metal gear selector plate manage center controls. Faux-suede and genuine leather make up the Spider’s upholstery. In addition, Ferrari states that the Spider’s steering wheel controls were revised for improved user-friendliness. At the moment, Ferrari has not disclosed the price of the 2024 Roma Spider or when it will arrive in dealers. However, it is safe to assume that we’ll see it by winter or spring next year.
