Another place is being set at the Porsche 911 dinner table for the return of the GTS. The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS will be the top-end variant for the 911 Turbo series. Porsche buyers will be able to configure their new 911 GTS in either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. However, if you want a 2022 Porsche 911 GTS Targa, those are only available in all-wheel-drive. Powering the GTS is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six producing 473-horsepower and 420 lb.-ft of torque. That is 30 more horsepower than the 911 Carrera S.
Transmission options for the 911 GTS include an eight-speed dual-clutch (PDK) automatic or a seven-speed manual. Porsche also offers an optional “Lightweight Design” package for the new 911 GTS. This performance package includes a carbon-fiber bucket, seats up front, and eliminates the seats in the rear. It also features lightweight rear and side window glass and a lighter car battery, which adds to a 55-pound crash diet. Standard equipment on the 2022 Porsche 911 GTS is rear-axle steering and a bespoke tuned Active Suspension Management that rides one centimeter lower than the Carrera 911. Interior options for the new 911 GTS will include black Race-Tex microfiber upholstery and available dark trim accents. The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS is set to arrive at dealerships at the start of 2022.
