The all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL was supposed to make its anticipated unveiling on October 20th. However, it’s been delayed until October 28th, with no apparent reason as to why. Nevertheless, fans of the SL’s legacy and car buyers aching for a topless AMG are waiting anxiously to see the finished product. This new Mercedes-Benz SL sees the return of a 2+2 seating configuration. In addition, it ditches the retractable hardtop in favor of a classic fabric soft convertible top.

Early in the year, Mercedes-Benz teased the 2022 AMG SL with photos of the redesigned interior. It takes some of the best bits of the S-Class, like its 11.9-inch touchscreen placed in the center of the dash using the latest MBUX software. In addition, the car shows a fully digital 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with an optional heads-up display. Other interior styling cues include galvanized “turbine nozzle” air vents and premium Burmester audio speakers.

There is no word yet as to what sort of AMG magic lurks under the hood of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL. However, this new SL is built on the same aluminum platform as the next-gen AMG GT coupe, so we can expect to see some impressive specs with optional performance packages and the choice of AMG bucket seats. Only a few more days until we get the full story on the new 2022 Mercedes AMG SL.
