Merging tradition with innovation, the 2021 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Master Chronometer Collection is the latest update to Omega’s iconic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. The Moonwatch, which is best known for accompanying NASA astronauts on their journeys to the moon from 1969 and onward, is today one of the watch world’s most recognizable models. Built in the classic, 4th generation style that was worn by Apollo 11 astronauts during history’s first moon landing, the 42 mm Speedmaster Moonwatch includes an asymmetrical stainless steel case. It features three chronograph subdials and domed minute and seconds chronograph hands.
The Speedmaster Moonwatch comes in four distinct models: the hesalite glass model with a nylon fabric strap or the sapphire crystal model with a leather strap. Stainless steel bracelets can be fitted for each version. The collection also offers two 18k gold models – one with Sedna gold and the other with Canopus gold. As with all the timepieces in the collection, Omega has achieved a Master Chronometer certification, ensuring the same high standards that took men to the moon has been crafted into every gear. The backplate of the timepiece is proudly engraved with a distinction held by this one chronograph alone – the first watch worn on the Moon.
