Mercedes has just introduced its newest luxury crossover by unveiling the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The new model blurs the line between a coupe and the regular GLE with its dramatically sloping rear hatch. Customers in the U.S. will get the newly revealed GLE 53 Coupe, which features a turbocharged 3.0-liter six cylinder engine with a hybridized powertrain. The luxury crossover can go from 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. Power is harnessed by Mercedes’ powertrain that transfers torque between the axles of the shorter wheelbase for increased agility.

Its on-road performance is only part of the story though. Afterall, what would a high-end SUV be without a spacious and luxurious interior? GLE Coupe’s cabin comfortably sits five with a boot that holds up to 23 cubic feet of luggage that can be expanded to accommodate over 63 cubic feet when its rear seats are folded down. With the most cargo room in its class, the GLE Coupe clearly stays true to its SUV heritage.

The 12.3-inch MBUX infotainment system is hosted by two widescreen displays that showcase everything from media playback to a voice controlled assistant that allows you to command most of the vehicle’s functions. Fullscreen mode gives drivers insight into detailed augmented reality navigation functionality across the entire area of the gauge cluster.

The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe blends the sporty design of a coupe with the versatility of an SUV. No specific launch details have been released yet, but with a model year designation as a 2021, we wouldn’t hold our breath for a launch anytime soon.
