Fans of the Hyundai Veloster and lots of torque will love the 2020 Hyundai Veloster N DCT. This year, Hyundai added a new transmission with a dual-clutch gearbox. The eight-speed transmission features a wet clutch design, which increases the Veloster’s torque by 7 percent. The horsepower remains the same — 250 hp for the standard version and 275 hp when you order it with the performance package. Both models now have 278 lb-ft of torque, which allows this sporty vehicle to go from 0 to 60 a half-second quicker than the model with the six-speed manual transmission.

However, the increase in speed isn’t all from the increase in torque. You can opt for the added launch control feature offered to each model by Hyundai. Paddle shifters on the manual transmission allow for faster shifting, which means better-timed shifts and faster track times. Even the automatic is quicker and has crisper shifts, adding a sense of excitement to a ride with an equally impressive 20 mpg fuel economy.
