Last year, Bentley introduced us to their new Continental GT, a hugely popular grand tourer that took the brand into the future with its striking design and impressive performance. Following the first act of the coupe, Bentley takes things to the next level with the introduction of the drop-top version — the 2020 Bentley Continental GT Convertible.
While most of the car’s highlights carry over from the coupe — including the crystal-effect LED headlights and trick James Bond-style dashboard with the 12.3-inch touchscreen that allows you to take a “digital detox” — the convertible isn’t merely just a Continental GT with its roof chopped off. The innovative “Z-fold” roof is made of contemporary tweed that offers three-decibel noise reduction and can retract in just 19 seconds. The 2020 Bentley Continental GT Convertible also features a new neckwarmer system that is both quieter and warmer that the previous generation’s.
Under the hood, the 2020 Bentley Continental GT Convertible is motivated by a 626-hp W12 engine that can propel the car to 60 in just 3.7 while also sending it to a top speed of 207 mph — an impressive feat considering that the convertible comes with a 352 lbs weight penalty.
