Audi has cultivated somewhat of a cult status with their high-performance Quattro wagons, where you can have five seats and room for your dog in the back while rocketing through the autobahn. Set to continue this tradition, Audi is introducing their latest wagon at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant

The new 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant shares its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with the Porsche Panamera producing 592 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, propelling the car to 62 in just 3.6 seconds via all four wheels. The already impressive acceleration time is said to be a conservative estimate from Audi.

Wearing a wider and more aggressive body to match the blistering performance, the wheel arches have been widened 40mm on each side. Riding on specially tuned air suspension for maximum agility around corners, the car comes equipped with wheel sizes up to optional 22-inches, appropriately filling out the flared wheel arches and accommodating its massive 10-pot carbon ceramic brakes.

The front end is dominated by a massive Singleframe grille and theatrical RS Matrix LED headlights with on and off sequences that are like nothing else on the road. The hood features a prominent power dome that hints at the performance lurking underneath. Aggressive side skirts and liftgate-mounted spoiler finish off the performance-oriented look at the car.

The most exciting news might be that the new 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant will finally be available in North America, where the undeserved stigma of boring wagons have kept this automotive jewel from this side of the pond.
