JDM fans rejoice as Bonhams prepares to auction off a four-wheeled holy grail late this month in Brussels, a 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R. The car is an icon when stock, but this one carries more modifications than a Fast and Furious movie car because it is one. Kaizo Industries built this screen-used Skyline R34 GT-R to Paul Walker’s personal specifications for the film Fast and Furious 4 (2009).
Those familiar with the fourth entry in the continuing film franchise may remember seeing this Bayside Blue R34 GT-R in several scenes. The first scene is when Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner selects three R34s in an FBI impound lot. This car was then featured during the nighttime street race through Los Angeles against Dom’s matte black Chevelle SS. Its final scene features a fake R34 stunt double when it gets blown up in the Mexican desert. This 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R is the only real GT-R used in Fast and Furious 4.
Since making its Hollywood debut, the car has been stationary for most of its time since production ended. Part of the reason was being stuck in red tape by U.S. customs over its importation status. Finally, however, it was released in 2012 and exported to Germany, where it stayed for several years as an exhibit in the Munchen MotorWorld in Munich. Lately, the car has visited the United States on a show or display title.
Modifications done to this 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R include a Nismo NE-1 exhaust system, rear seat delete, custom roll cage, Momo Sport Alcantara steering wheel, and a lot more. But the car will need a thorough inspection before you embark on any fast and furious fantasies. The Bonhams auction in Brussels is scheduled for April 28 – May 5.
