Here’s a car that’ll test your supercar trivia: The 1993 Isdera Commendatore 112i. If you’ve never heard of it, we don’t blame you. After all, they only made one, and it’s now for sale. Isdera named this supercar in honor of Enzo Ferrari. It features gullwing doors, a six-speed transmission from a Ruf Porsche, and is powered by a Mercedes-Benz M120 6.0-liter V12 producing over 400 hp. Fun fact, this is the same engine that would go on to bring the Pagani Zonda to life.

The Commendatore’s hand-built body is made from glass-fiber reinforced plastic over a space frame chassis. It features an active function suspension taken from a Porsche 928 capable of lowering the car by three inches to reduce air drag while in pursuit of a top speed of 211 mph. The main reason we didn’t see more of these cars came down to money. Most of the funding came from Japan, which was going through a recession in the 1990s. The car was sold, and Isdera wasn’t able to repurchase it until 2016. Since getting it back, Isdera restored the supercar to its original ’93 spec in Porsche Arctic Silver with a set of gold two-piece BBS wheels. RM Sotheby will be auctioning this one-of-a-kind supercar without a reserve in Paris on February 13, 2021.
