The world’s smallest car doesn’t have doors. As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even have an engine, transmission, or seats for that matter. Made by Japanese startup Cocoa Motors, the WALKCAR literally lets your driving experience (if you can call it that) mimic that of walking, much like the name suggests.
In truthfulness, it’s not much of a “car” but a next generation in personal mobility device, similar in concept to the Boosted Board and the like, but shrunken down to the size of a 13-inch laptop. It’s light weight as well, only weighing about 6 lbs, allowing you to carry the WALKCAR in your bag when not in use. With a top speed of 10 mph, you’re not going to win any drag races, but it’s a much better alternative to using your own two legs, if you’re not into walking. Fully charging the WALKCAR takes approximately an hour, at which point you can get about the same amount of use on the road. Currently available for preorder from their website, the WALKCAR sill start shipping to customers this fall.
