The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface is the watchmaker’s latest iteration of its signature complication, displaying the day of the week, month, the date, and the moonphase. However, this version of the Traditionnelle Complete Calendar features an open dial, with the entire moonphase disk, as well as the disks for the day and month indications and the jumper springs which are in full view, as well. This 41mm timepiece is a marvel of craftsmanship. Its Vacheron automatic caliber 2460 QCL/2 movement differs slightly from the caliber 2460 in the basic Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Open Face model, with an anthracite finished plate and bridges. The 2460 QCL/2 model has an anthracite-colored straight-grained plating.
For the technically inclined, the under-the-dial image, which extends past the movement’s circumference, features pushers to adjust each of the indications. Given the watch’s complete calendar, wearers must adjust the date and month at the end of any month that is less than 31 days. Regardless, the timepiece’s entire calendar complication is a completely innovative approach amongst its high-end peers. It is both visually interesting and technically engaging via interaction with the setting pushers. In addition, Vacheron’s caliber rules supreme as one of the thinnest full rotor automatic movements ever made in the nearly 60 years since its original inception. The watch, which is available in both pink and white gold, is expected to hit Vacheron boutiques in January 2022.
