Vacheron Constantin, one of the oldest and most prestigious Swiss watchmakers, has unveiled three new awe-inspiring models at Watches and Wonders that celebrate a rare complication: the retrograde display. The Maison has always been known for its quest for style, and this year’s novelties embody this pursuit with unparalleled precision, durability, and aesthetic principles.

The first of the three models is the Overseas Moon Phase Retrograde Date, a sporty-elegant steel watch that combines a precision moon phase with a true signature of the Maison – the retrograde display. The poetic complication, depicting two gold moons and a star-studded sky, only needs adjusting every 122 years. With its folding clasp and three straps (steel, leather, and rubber) equipped with a self-interchangeable system, the watch can be personalized according to the owner’s wishes.

The second new model is the Patrimony Day-Date Retrograde, which impresses at first glance with its intensely reflective salmon-colored dial and glistening platinum case, an ideal match sought after by collectors. The watch also pays homage to the signature retrograde with its rare double complication indicating the day and date. Driven by the in-house Caliber 2460, the Patrimony offers a 40-hour power reserve that embodies the quintessence of Haute Horlogerie.

Finally, the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Openface embodies an innovative, free spirit with its avant-garde aesthetic highlighted by the openface dial revealing the intricacies of this exceptional watch. Despite its slim profile, the 41mm pink gold case upholds grand High Watchmaking traditions, and the retrograde date display overlooks the Maltese Cross tourbillon and its refined finishes. The Caliber 2162 R31 and its decorated gold peripheral weight push the boundaries of contemporary fine watchmaking, capturing the essence of the grand Geneva tradition.

The retrograde complication completes a circular arc before jumping back to its starting point, demanding excellent precision and durability. The Maison has honed this technique, and these novelties are a testament to its mastery. The three new models offer exclusive combinations, embodying the brand’s values of quality, precision, and style.

The Overseas Moon Phase Retrograde Date, the Patrimony Day-Date Retrograde, and the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Openface are confirmation of the Maison’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of contemporary fine watchmaking while staying true to its grand Geneva tradition. Vacheron Constantin has created watches that will stand the test of time, captivating collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.
