The new limited-edition URWERK UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey features precision assembly and fully digital displays, all with the quality craftsmanship that the watchmaker is known for. The 66-jewel movement uses a Swiss lever-type escapement with a 48-hour power reserve. The URWERK UR-112 Aggregat Odyssey features aluminum jumping hour and training digital minute counters, satellite prisms, and a silicon digital seconds indicator. The caliber UR-13.01 movement features a titanium Cardan shaft and a second wheel made of silicon. The surface features sandblasted circular graining and polished screw heads. The grooved steel cover opens vertically to reveal the secondary power reserve and digital seconds indicator, with a satin-brushed titanium body that is grooved, bead blasted, and sandblasted.
The watch is a major departure from URWERK’s foundational wandering hour mechanism. This watch does not contain the carousel with arms, cubes, or 120-degree sector indicators typical on many of the watchmaker’s models during the past quarter-century. The shift is not only in design but in presentation. The hours and minutes are displayed on the front of the watch. Hours displayed on one side in the crystal housings, with minutes advanced in five-minute increments on the other side, with a precise minute-by-minute indicator trailing. The titanium and steel case features sapphire crystal glass. The URWERK Odyssey also has water resistance to 100 feet or 30 meters.
