Sneakerheads and comic book fans alike are eagerly anticipating the release of the new Nike Air Jordan 1 Next Chapter, set to hit stores on May 20th. Inspired by Miles Morales’ journey through the multiverse, these limited edition kicks feature a fragmented construction that appears to be thrust through a rift in space and time. With paneling that transitions from leather to suede and back, and a subtle iridescent finish on the Swoosh, these sneakers are a true work of art. The eyestays and ankle flaps also offer a graphic look that appears to be ripped straight out of the pages of a comic book.
This Air Jordan 1 design is an evolution of its predecessor, featuring a Kirby Dot-covered rendition of the “Chicago” colorway. The new design offers some semblance of familiarity, but quickly breaks away into its own unique style, with multiverse-inspired paneling taking center stage.
