Fueled by a desire to take the electric car into the future, the Swedish startup Uniti recently unveiled a vehicle that could have crash-landed from a more advanced alien world. Its panoramic windscreen and sleekly shaped carbon fiber body are certainly like nothing else on the global automotive market. Despite its futuristic, extra-terrestrial appearance, however, the Uniti One was specifically designed for optimal performance in the everyday urban environment.
Suitable for both highway and city driving, the diminutive Uniti One can reach speeds in excess of 81mph and can go from 0 to 50mph in just 3.5 seconds. And thanks to its state-of-the-art 22kWh battery, it can travel more than 186 miles on a single 3.2-hour charge.
Echoing the vehicle’s sleek and clean exterior, Uniti took a decidedly minimalist approach when it came to the Uniti One’s organic composite interior. With intuitive controls inspired by the seamless user interfaces of smartphones, this vehicle is the realization of Uniti’s dream of a user experience that replaces “press and pull” with “touch and swipe.”
