Bring a Trailer is auctioning one of its own cars, a Lime yellow 1973 Datsun 240Z. At the time of this publication, the auction is seven days from ending and sitting on a high bid of $100k. This 240Z has been tastefully modified, and while there are some mild paint imperfections, the car is mechanically and visually ready for its next big adventure.

Under the hood, the stock 2.4-liter L24 straight six has been bored to 2.7-liters by Rebello Racing. The engine features triple Weber 40 DCOE carburetors with K&N air filters, MSD ignition, aftermarket headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust system. The five-speed manual transmission sends the engine’s output to an R200 limited-slip differential to spin its 16-inch Panasport Wheels.

Inside, the car still wears its original black vinyl upholstery and comes with air conditioning. Its odometer currently shows 44k miles and change. According to Bring a Trailer, this Datsun 240Z has been at its headquarters in California since 2018. Moreover, 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Piston Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps fund skilled trade education for students. The winning bid will not only receive the keys to a sunny Datsun 240Z but do their part in helping the future of trade skilled workers get the education they need. It sounds like a win-win to us.
