Legendary American skater Mark “The Gonz” Gonzales and adidas have worked together since 1998. The duo proves its relationship is still going strong with the soon-to-be-released Shmoofoil slip-ons.
adidas first released the Shmoofoil collection in 2020. This year, the iconic sportswear brand and Gonzales are adding two unique pairs of Vans-like slip-ons. Known as the Shmoofoil Slip-On, the trendy, durable, and comfortable skate shoe will be available in Mgh Solid Grey and Core Black colorways. Both colorways feature a contrasting Adidas logo on the tongue area. A small smiley face at the tip of the logo adds a playful, Mark Gonzales touch.
The slip-ons feature an upper inspired by adidas’ Vulc Raid3r skate sneakers. They feature a suede upper with canvas quarters for comfort and breathability. adidas’ molded sockliner holds feet snugly in place whether performing a kickflip on the street or getting inverted on the quarter pipe. The vulcanized rubber sole offers traction and durability for endless skateboarding.
Slip-ons may have a reputation for being house shoes, but the Shmoofoil slip-on is ready for the street straight out of the box. It’s a welcome addition to the Shmoofoil Collection and shows adidas’ more than 20-year-long partnership with Mark Gonzales may just be getting started. The shoe is now available in European markets, but adidas has not yet announced the U.S. release date.
