Sony recently added two new music players to its Walkman® series — the NW-ZX707 and the NW-A306. First, the NW-ZX707 features a 5-inch display, Wi-Fi compatibility, and enhanced battery life compared to the previous model, with up to 25 hours of 44.1kHz FLAC playback and up to 23 hours of 96 kHz FLAC high-resolution audio playback. Users will also get up to 22 hours of battery life using music apps. Sony says the NW-ZX707 advances the philosophy of the Signature Walkman with a balanced output connection from a large 8mm coil to improve sound resolution across all frequencies. Additionally, this music player has upgraded capacitors, including a high polymer FTCAP3 capacitor and a large high polymer capacitor for low resistance and large capacitance.
Next, Sony says it designed the smaller NW-A306 for discerning listeners using various sound processing and codecs technology, offering more ways to enjoy music. Like the Sony NW-ZX707, the NW-A306 is a compact and stylish music player. The NW-A306 weighs seven ounces and provides users with full Wi-Fi compatibility and a 3.6-inch touchscreen. It also has physical music controls. The NW-A306 has a premium aluminum milled frame providing low impedance, stable sound, and solid bass.
Both music players offer high-quality sound and a sleek, portable design. They boast faithful sound reproduction, with the S-Master HX digital amp technology that Sony developed for its Walkman. And they’re compatible with the native DSD format, which reduces noise and distortion across many frequency ranges providing rich, full-bodied sound, which Sony says is further enhanced by its new high-quality lead-free solder. Both models will be available for purchase in late January 2023.
