The eyewear brand SMITH has produced goggles, sunglasses, and other sports accessories since the mid-1960s, beginning with bespoke hand-built goggles for skiers. Over the decades since first launching, they have developed a refined design and manufacturing plan known for its industry-leading innovation. The new SMITH Eyewear Archive Collection combines classic sunglasses from the brand’s rich back catalog with a retro aesthetic and high-quality construction.
The collection comprises the XC, first released as part of the 1983-84 collection with a flip-up lens brought up to date with contemporary ChromaPop™ lenses for contrast and color-boosting optics.
Following up on the XC are the Cheetah and Mono Lake shades from 1988 and 1991, respectively, presenting a more traditional and formal style that blends outdoor functionality with updated materials. In addition to the ChromaPop™ lenses featured in the XC, these shares utilize full polarization to reduce glare while enhancing contrast and color vibrancy. With sturdy barrel hinges and an adjustable wire-core temple, they’re as comfortable to wear as they are stylish.
Rounding up the SMITH Eyewear Archive Collection is the striking Monroe Peak, another sporty model with chunky wrap-around temples featuring distinctive side shields. An update on SMITH’s 1993 original, they’re designed first and foremost for sunny days on the piste, with optical clarity and impact-resistant carbonic lenses.
Each entry in the SMITH Eyewear Archive Collection comes in a wide variety of color combinations to choose from, ranging from minimalist matte black to classic tortoise, ensuring something for all tastes.
