The first official trailer for Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has just been released. Starring Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany as lawyer Jennifer Walters who, according to Disney+, is “a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases.” She-Hulk was created by Stan Lee and artist John Buscema, making her debut in Savage She-Hulk #1 in 1980. The Disney+ show will reportedly follow the comic closely.
While the trailer doesn’t provide details about She-Hulk’s backstory, the 1980 comic tells the story of how she gets her Hulk powers. While it’s not clear why she undergoes the transformation to She-Hulk, it is revealed that Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo is her cousin. Her brand new gamma ray-infused blood turns her into She-Hulk, green skin and all. Like her cousin, she is very strong, very fast, and, well, very green, and heals very quickly. Unlike Bruce in the earlier MCU films, Jennifer appears to retain her emotional control and intelligence when she transforms into She-Hulk.
Expect to see many of your MCU favorites in the upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. In a series synopsis released in December 2020, Disney wrote that She-Hulk “will welcome a host of Marvel characters to the series.” She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is coming to Disney+ on Aug. 27, 2022, and will consist of 9 episodes. The series also stars Jameela Jamill, Benedict Wong, and Tim Roth, who will reprise his role as Abomination.
