What do you get when you cross an American menswear entrepreneur who is also an archaeologist with an English designer who produces work that is informed by classical antiquity? It might sound like the setup to a joke, but this is precisely what happened when Rowing Blazers founder Jack Carlson met fabrics, ceramics, and housing interior artist Edward Hall.
The result of this collaboration is certainly no punch line. Instead, the pair has created a limited edition line of Oxford and rugby shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and ties. Each product in this line features one of five Luke Edward Hall illustrations that draw upon iconography from the ancient world: a Greek vase, a discus-thrower, the mask of Tutankhamun, a statue bust, and a set of ionic columns in ruin. These illustrations are also available as patches that can be sewn onto clothing and accessories.
