A new all-purpose electric bike from California-based startup company A-O is gearing up for production after surpassing its goal on Kickstarter. This exciting zero-emission off-road capable e-bike is called the Ronin Mark 1 and packs a host of standard performance features to cater to riders who enjoy taking both high and low roads.
The aluminum alloy frame is fitted with a 20Ah larger-capacity Samsung battery pack to power a torque-sensor 1,000W mid-drive motor with a peak power rating of 1,500W, translating to 118 pounds-feet of torque. The 9-speed Shimano Alivio drivetrain and the five pedal-assist levels on the A-O Ronin Mark 1 offer speeds ranging from 11 to 30 mph, depending on weight and terrain. More importantly, the max range on the electric bike is 60 miles.
Other performance parts include a GT-860 air suspension with Tektro 4 Piston Hydraulic brakes front and back and a hardtail rack capable of holding up to 300 pounds of gear. The e-bike rides on 26-inch Kenda anti-puncture tires durable enough to handle grassy trails, sand, gravel, and urban streets without needing knobby tire tread.
Available Ronin Mark 1 e-bike accessories include water-resistant dual nylon saddle bags and a cargo trailer. The theme for this e-bike is all-purpose. An e-bike you can ride on and off-road with enough torque to carry extra gear without breaking a sweat. Worldwide shipping of the Ronin Mark 1 is expected to start in the fall of 2023.
