In a significant collaborative effort, Prince Albert II of Monaco’s Foundation has partnered with Ressence to create a limited edition run of watches. The Ressence Type 5 Art in Time timepiece is specially designed, with proceeds going to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation established in 2006. The foundation’s mission is to protect the land and ocean while promoting sustainable development and encouraging groundbreaking science to save the world’s resources.
The Ressence Type 5 Art in Time collection features a high-quality, specialty-crafted dive watch. The watch case is made of grade five titanium, making the timepiece both durable and incredibly lightweight. The case is a sandwich style with a two-tone finish. The dial side has yellow indexing to mark the hours, while the hours’ disc features the Ressence logo. Like the brand’s Type 3, the patented Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) is entirely immersed in oil in the Type 5, filling the gap between the dial and crystal tightly. The oil helps create complete legibility, no matter the angle at which the watch is viewed.
The Ressence Type 5 Art in Time will be issued in extremely limited quantities. There will only be 12 total watches in the collection, each with an original style and available exclusively at Art in Time. Art in Time is a gallery boutique located in Monaco with a philanthropic mission, bringing together independent watchmaking houses that will develop limited editions that will be sold exclusively through the retailer in support of a local charitable initiative. The twelfth and final timepiece released as part of this limited collection will be sold in September at a private charity event. All proceeds from the sale of the twelfth watch in the Ressence Type 5 Art in Time collection will go to the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco.
