Piaget is pushing the boundaries of high-end horology with the stunning new Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase. This timepiece, a first for the collection, combines two advanced complications—the anti-gravity flying tourbillon and a precision astronomical moon phase—housed within an ultra-thin titanium case.
With a 44mm diameter and only 9.8mm in thickness, this watch packs impressive functionality into an elegant and sporty package. The 642P manual-winding movement, which powers the Polo, is the same ultra-thin caliber that first appeared in the 2012 Gouverneur Tourbillon.
With alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces, the titanium case features blue PVD gadroons and a ribbed rubber strap that complements the stunning blue dial. The dial’s figure-eight design is a nod to Piaget’s rich heritage, with the flying tourbillon at the top and the moon phase indicators at 6 o’clock. The moon phase complication is a precision astronomical model, requiring a correction only once every 122 years. Thanks to a skeletonized area of the dial, you can see the intricate mechanics at work, including the motion works decorated with perlage.
