So many of Nike’s most iconic sneakers make their mark on the hardwood or on the track. Building on those sneakers, the sportswear behemoth has taken those memorable models and revamped them to perform every bit as well on the back 9. The Nike Air Max 97 G takes one of the Air Max’s most tried and true versions and transforms them to be worn on the golf course. This re-envisioned version of the Air Max 97 goes stitch-for-stitch with the original but adds an enhanced outsole for added grip. It still has the same sleek design that gave it its nickname – the silver bullet.
In addition to a reconstituted sole, this version of the Air Max 97’s body is knit to be slightly thinner. This offsets the extra weight added to the shoe by its enhanced grip. By and large, Nike keeps most of this design entirely intact. After all, if it isn’t broke then why fix it?
