Purple is doing more work here than a logo ever could. The first NEEDLES and SOREL collaboration applies the Japanese label’s unmistakable palette to two waterproof Ambler silhouettes, pairing outdoor construction with a fashion vocabulary that remains recognizable from across the room.

The capsule includes the Ambler Waterproof Clog and Ambler Chukka Waterproof Boot. Both use waterproof full-grain nubuck leather uppers with leather vamp detailing, while NEEDLES’ butterfly motif is embossed rather than printed. The treatment keeps the branding tactile and relatively restrained despite the saturated purple finish.

The clog translates SOREL’s weather-ready construction into a slip-on profile, while the Chukka adds ankle coverage without returning to the bulk of the brand’s classic winter boots. That makes the collaboration more than a seasonal color exercise: NEEDLES is working with two newer forms in SOREL’s lineup rather than simply recoloring the Caribou.

The result sits comfortably between technical footwear and the eccentric sportswear associated with the NEPENTHES ecosystem.
The NEEDLES x SOREL Ambler collection releases September 25 through SOREL and participating NEEDLES/NEPENTHES channels. U.S. pricing is $200 for the Ambler Waterproof Clog and $250 for the Ambler Chukka Waterproof Boot.
