Meta’s virtual reality headset, the Quest 3, is receiving an upgrade with the Meta Quest 3S. This headset builds on its predecessor’s impressive mixed-reality experience with a series of upgrades that promise to take immersive gaming to the next level.
These upgrades begin with an enhanced resolution of 4.5 times the Quest 2 with significant improvements to color through the 96° by 90°field of view, delivering sharper details and image fidelity. With a smoother refresh rate, giving the high-definition resolution a more immersive feel, the Meta Quest 3S’s crisper visuals are backed up by additional power under the hood.
This power comes thanks to the addition of the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, which can deliver rapid load times that help retain the intensity of gaming. Along with the headset, the Meta Quest 3S also comes with upgraded Touch Plus controllers designed for exceptional precision, with improved hand-tracking capabilities that offer realistic sensations, whether firing weapons or navigating virtual landscapes.
The Meta Quest 3S offers the complete package needed to get up and running in virtual space. It includes the all-in-one headset, available in 128GB or 256GB memory options. All versions also have a pre-installed standard facial interface with a glasses spacer for added comfort and two Touch Plus controllers with wrist straps.
The Meta Quest 3S pre-order price of $300 also includes a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow, a one-year warranty, and a subscription to Meta Quest+, which provides access to a catalog of games, including two curated titles per month across the three-month trial.
