MB&F has once again shaken up independent watchmaking, this time with the M.A.D.1S “Grow Your Dreams”, a vivid collaboration with British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori. Limited to 400 pieces in each of three colorways—Sun, Nature, and Water—the watches will be allocated by raffle beginning September 2nd, a move the brand has embraced to ensure fairness amid inevitable demand.

Ilori, known for his joyful, storytelling-driven design ethos, injects his signature use of color and cultural symbolism into the project. Each 42mm steel watch embodies MB&F’s whimsical yet technical DNA, highlighted by an anodized titanium rotor featuring a tree motif, symbolizing growth and resilience. Complementing this kinetic detail is a precision-machined HyCeram-filled bezel, hand-polished to perfection, and straps with mismatched colors and stamped leaf patterns that echo Ilori’s philosophy of nurturing dreams.

Inside, MB&F swaps the Miyota movement of past M.A.D.1 models for a Swiss La Joux-Perret G101 caliber. Slimmer and more refined, it offers a 68-hour power reserve and powers the signature fast-spinning rotor that has become a hallmark of M.A.D.Editions. The result is both playful and practical, featuring sapphire crystals on the front and back, 3 ATM water resistance, and a slimmer profile than previous editions.
Priced at $3,990 before taxes, the M.A.D.1S “Grow Your Dreams” represents MB&F’s most accessible chronograph yet—while still delivering an explosion of design and emotion. Expect collectors and enthusiasts alike to race for the chance to secure one of these vibrant, mechanical artworks.
