For those who like to take a walk on the wild side, Tabasco is giving hardcore fans something to celebrate. Brunches, burgers, and Bloody Marys just got better with the release of the Tabasco 150th Anniversary Diamond Reserve Red Sauce.
This celebratory limited edition of the world’s most iconic hot sauce is made from a selection of tabasco peppers grown on Avery Island in Louisiana, Tabasco’s home state. The peppers used in the sauce were all chosen for their excellent color, texture, and robustness. In true Tabasco style they were then mashed with salt and aged, some for up to 15 years in special barrels, before being blended with white wine vinegar. What results from this dedicated and even delicate process is a hot sauce with a punchy complexity, that celebrates the signature vibrant, flavors of the Tabasco brand, which is known for its bold simplicity.
To celebrate its 150th year, the hot sauce has been elevated from its diner staple status and packaged in a champagne style bottle and box complete with a golden seal. As it’s priced at $35 a pop, the pomp and circumstance may be opulent but it’s totally worth it.
