UPDATE
Today, the Klipsch Flexus Soundbar System powered by Onkyo has been released. The system includes the Flexus Core 100 ($349) and Core 200 ($499) sound bar models, the Flexus Surr 100 wireless surround speakers ($249), and the Flexus Sub 100 wireless subwoofer ($299).
Soundbars have become an increasingly popular alternative to full-blown surround sound home cinema systems, offering impressive performance without taking up excessive space. The upcoming Klipsch Flexus Soundbar System combines the flexibility of a modular approach to building a home cinema with the tech-savvy knowledge of Klipsch and the iconic brand Onkyo.
The Flexus Soundbar System comes available in two soundbars, the Core 100 and Core 200, presented in a woodgrain cabinet finish with metal mesh and a black fabric grille. Redefining what budget soundbars are capable of, each model offers exceptional depth and range thanks to the inclusion of 2.5-inch midrange drivers and impactful bass through 4-inch woofers.
Including crisp LED displays makes it easier to adjust the volume and other settings, particularly useful when using the full selection of the Flexus Soundbar System speakers. This includes an optional wireless subwoofer and a pair of surround speakers, which can be doubled up for those looking to build a 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos configuration.
With a full surround setup costing under $1000, the Flexus Soundbar and speaker collection represents great potential value for money for setting up an impressive system on a budget. Thanks to Onkyo’s manufacturing expertise, it’s also a compact setup suitable for smaller living rooms. While the full specs have yet to be released, it’s likely the Klipsch Flexus Soundbar System will offer full support for Dolby Atmos and the major Wi-Fi features.
