Although still in its Kickstarter phase, the new Keychron K3 Pro keyboard is testing the boundaries of possibility for a slim, wireless keyboard. This wireless mechanical keyboard promises a comfortable feel, fluid workflow, and programmable features that make this keyboard ideal for gamers or programmers.
The Keychron K3 Pro is a low-profile keyboard measuring 22 mm thick, thanks partly to the innovative slim Gateron switch. At 31% smaller than conventional switches, the K3 Pro keyboard is easily one of the thinnest, sleekest designs available. While the Keychron K3 Pro keyboard is a wireless keyboard, an internal USB Type-C wired connection transforms the keyboard into a wired device. With a wired connection, the keyboard boasts a 1000 Hz polling rate, making it perfect for competitive gamers who want minimal lag time. The Keychron K3 Pro keyboard features Broadcom Bluetooth 5.1, allowing heavy multitasking.
Connect up to three devices to the keyboard, and use the K3 with either Mac or Windows. QMK/VIA enabled, the Keychron K3 Pro allows users to create favorite macro commands or keys, remapping the system using macOS, Linux, or Windows. The Keychron K3 Pro is expected to ship at the end of January 2023. Interested buyers can pledge $89 for a white backlight keyboard or $99 for an RGB backlight keyboard. Buyers can also select their choice of switch color, with red, blue, and brown available.
